Long Beach, CA (December 10, 2019) – The driver of a stolen vehicle struck and seriously injured a bicyclist on Sunday evening, December 8th. The crash took place around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Gardenia Avenue, in the vicinity of Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus.
Authorities stated that the male victim was riding a bicycle across the intersection, west of Cherry Avenue in Long Beach, when he was struck by the vehicle. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
The vehicle involved was reported stolen before the incident and police recovered it in a nearby alleyway. Police are searching for the suspect as part of their investigation.
