Long Beach, CA – Man Killed in Bicycle Crash on 405 Fwy

Long Beach, CA (September 15, 2019) – A 30-year-old man died in a bicycle crash on Friday, September 13th. The accident took place on the 405 Freeway near Woodruff Avenue at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Police said the man, who has not been identified at this time, was riding in the auxiliary lane of the roadway when he was hit by a 2007 Lexus. When emergency medical technicians arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene of the crash. There is no word on what caused the accident to occur. The driver of the Lexus was identified only as an 83-year-old Long Beach resident.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. No further details have been released and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed.
