Irvine, CA (November 26, 2019) – Police officials have released the identities of two of the three victims who were killed in a serious crash that took place on Friday, November 22nd, in Irvine. The fatal accident happened at around 1:46 a.m. at the intersection of Harvard Avenue and University Drive.
Authorities stated that Kiwook Seok, 20, of Irvine, Yoseop Jeon, 18, of Torrance, and two unidentified parties were traveling in an unspecified vehicle when they crashed into a tree near the University of California, Irvine campus. The impact of the crash caused the car to burst into flames.
Both Seok and Jeon, as well as one of the unidentified victims, were tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. The fourth victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
We would like to offer our condolences to the families of all three deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
Factors such as distracted or intoxicated driving and high speeds commonly contribute to severe and even fatal collisions. In fact, the most recent research has determined that more than 3,000 California car accidents resulted in deaths during 2017, according to authorities.
After a sudden accident, victims and their loved ones are often unfairly stuck with the high costs of hospital bills or funeral expenses. During such a devastating and overwhelming time, we believe that it is only right to hold those who have recklessly caused the injuries or death of another person responsible for their actions.
