Imperial Beach, CA (January 11, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Imperial Beach on Friday, January 10th. The crash was reported just after 12:00 p.m. at the intersection of 9th Street and Ebony Avenue.
According to police, a man was walking across 9th Street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by an 84-year-old woman. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, sustained injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.
The victim later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as a man in his 70s but his name has not been released at this time. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation is ongoing and it is not clear whether charges will be filed.
