Highland, CA – Woman Killed in Collision with DUI Driver at Tippecanoe Ave & 3rd St

Highland, CA (March 5, 2020) – Police arrested a suspected DUI driver following a fatal crash that occurred on Monday evening, March 2nd. The accident happened at the intersection of Tippecanoe Avenue and 3rd Street in Highland at approximately 6:40 p.m.

According to authorities, 36-year-old Rachel Leah Hibbert, of Phelan, was traveling north on Tippecanoe Avenue in a 2018 GMC Sierra when she went through a red light. Hibbert crashed into a Kia Soul that was heading west along 3rd Street.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene where they transported the female driver of the Kia to a nearby hospital. She was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later. Police eventually arrested Hibbert on suspicion of DUI.
