Between 2006 and 2016, approximately 8,000 people were tragically killed in California pedestrian accidents that occurred throughout the state. These statistics have California at a rate that is nearly 30 percent higher than the national average, according to researchers. Auto-pedestrian collisions are so commonly fatal due to the negligent actions of motorists, as well as the lack of protection in place for victims.
