Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in California

There are nearly 1,000 deaths reported every year in California as a result of crashes involving pedestrians. In addition to this number, far more will sustain some type of injuries when they are struck by vehicles in our state. California remains one of the most dangerous places in the nation for pedestrians. With a high population and high traffic volume, pedestrians must always be wary of the risks that they face on our streets and highways.

When a pedestrian crash occurs, it is important to determine who is at fault. Police will conduct a complete investigation into the crash and the surrounding circumstances in order to determine who should be held legally responsible. If the driver was negligent in causing the crash, they may face both civil as well as criminal responsibility for their actions.
