According to police, the operator of a gray Ford Focus was traveling south on New Hampshire Avenue when they attempted a left turn onto 135th Street. The driver turned in front of a motorcyclist, subsequently triggering a collision.
The motorcycle rider was ejected due to the impact of the crash. Paramedics worked hard to help the victim at the scene but they were pronounced deceased a short time later. The incident is under investigation.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family of the victim at this time.
Over 480 people tragically perished in California motorcycle accidents during 2013, according to California’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Hundreds more sustained minor to critical injuries following collisions with motor vehicles. The cause of each motorcycle crash may be very different, however, the utter lack of protection in place for riders can be detrimental. When a motorcyclist is hurt or killed because of the actions of another person, it is then important to obtain skilled representation.
Unfortunately, serious and even deadly collisions can take place at any moment, leaving victims and their families with pain and suffering on top of terribly high expenses. It may be extremely challenging but it is essential to know that you may have substantial rights moving forward.
