East Los Angeles, CA (April 7, 2020) – A DUI crash involving a bicyclist left the latter with serious injuries on Monday evening, April 6th. According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Eastman Avenue and 1st Street in East Los Angeles.
Authorities stated that an intoxicated driver struck a bicyclist at the intersection around 7:45 p.m. Emergency crews arrived at the scene where they found the cyclist down in the roadway and transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim is currently being treated for injuries that have been classified as serious. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
