Downey, CA (December 31, 2019) – One person was injured after a pickup truck crashed into an apartment building on Wiley Burke Avenue in Downey. The incident was reported early on Monday morning, December 30th, at around 12:00 a.m.
According to authorities, police attempted to pull over a Chevrolet pickup truck occupied by two people when the vehicle fled east along Florence Avenue. The pickup lost control as the driver turned onto Wiley Burke Avenue and subsequently crashed into an apartment building.
One person inside the apartment was hit by the pickup during the crash and responding paramedics transported that individual to a nearby hospital. The victims’ current condition was not reported.
Police apprehended the suspects who were in the pickup a short time later and further investigation is ongoing.
