As recently published on KSBY news, Grover Beach residence David Fear & Betty Long have been seriously injured following a dog attack in their neighborhood on Tuesday.
David’s brother, Steve Fear says David suffered dog bites to his stomach and arms. The injuries are said to be so severe that the two arteries in his arm were severed, which contributed to him losing over six pints of blood. Steve also says his brother has an infection from the bites and may lose his hand.
According to the report, two dogs attacked Mr. Fear outside his home on Nacimiento Avenue. During the attack, a dog turned onto Mr. Fear’s neighbor, Ms. Betty Long, and David helped save her life.
Ms. Long’s injuries included a broken pelvis, shoulder and had staples in her head from falling as well as puncture wound throughout her body.
Dr. Anderson of San Luis Obispo County Department of Animal Services notes the animal involved was a 2 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois who has since been euthanized after the attack. The complete cause of this attack is currently under investigation.
The entire team at The May Firm wishes all those involved in this vicious dog attack a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers go out to David Fear and Betty Long.
