Compton, CA – Pedestrian Hit & Killed on Artesia Fwy at Wilmington Ave

Compton, CA (January 1, 2020) – Early on Wednesday morning, January 1st, a pedestrian was sadly hit and killed by a motor vehicle in Compton. The fatal incident was reported on the Artesia (91) Freeway at Wilmington Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, the victim, who has only been identified as a man in his mid-40s, was found lying alongside the freeway by responding officers. He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police stated that the suspected vehicle involved was nearby the crash site but there has been no information released concerning any charges. The investigation into this accident remains ongoing as no further details were reported.
