Carlsbad, CA (September 12, 2019) – Authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in a motorcycle accident that took place Wednesday morning, September 11th. The accident happened at around 6:45 a.m. on the 5 Freeway, north of Las Flores Drive.
According to police, 19-year-old Ryan Wayne Martin, of Oceanside, California, was riding a motorcycle southbound on Interstate 5 when his bike was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Emergency responders accompanied police at the scene where they lifted the truck off of Martin. He was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the accident.
