Cardiff, CA (February 23, 2020) – A fatal pedestrian crash took place in Cardiff on Saturday, February 22nd. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. along I-5 near the Birmingham Drive off-ramp.
According to reports, a male pedestrian was crossing the northbound lanes of I-5 when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The pedestrian’s identity has not been revealed at this time. It is not known whether the driver remained at the scene following the collision.
Three lanes of I-5 were closed until about 9:00 p.m. as a result of the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. There is no further information available.
