Anaheim, CA (February 18, 2020) – On Sunday night, February 16th, one person was killed and another suffered serious injuries during a motorcycle collision with a vehicle. The fatal accident was reported at the intersection of Ball Road and Trident Street in Anaheim at around 8:40 p.m.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol stated that a 22-year-old man was operating a motorcycle with a 22-year-old female passenger when it collided with a silver Toyota at the intersection. Paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene where they transported both victims to UCI Medical Center with severe injuries.
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. The female victim was reported to be in serious condition. Police evaluated the driver of the Toyota who was uninjured and showed no signs of intoxication. The incident remains under investigation.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family in hopes of a full recovery.
Just over 480 individuals were killed during the many California motorcycle accidents that occurred during 2013, according to official records. This disturbing data was reported by California’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System, and many other victims were found to have sustained various injuries during comparable accidents. While the specific cause of each collision may vary, the inattentiveness of other drivers on the roads often plays a part in the severity of such crashes.
